How is Creapure® manufactured?
„Creapure® is produced to the highest standards“

Closed production line for ultrapure products

Creapure® is made by chemical synthesis.

Our products are manufactured abiding the strictest guidelines used in the pharmaceutical and food industry. The GMP manufacturing practice standards ensure high quality production throughout the entire manufacturing process. In order to identify and eliminate any sources of contamination or processing disturbances, we operate according to the principles of the HACCP concept (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). The plant, especially built for the production of Creapure®, eliminates nearly all risk of cross-contamination or contamination by other products.

Creapure® is produced on a completely closed production line, beginning with the delivery of raw materials to the final packaging process. Each production batch is tested with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and other analytical techniques before being released for shipment.

Our proven, reliable manufacturing process ensures a consistent, optimum quality and purity!

Companies that enter into a branding agreement with us may use the brand name Creapure® as a quality seal on their own product labels. The Creapure® logo guarantees that the product contains high-quality, pure, safe and German-produced creatine.

Cooperations

We have a multitude of technologies at our disposal, allowing us to manufacture tailor-made products. If you have an idea but lack the research capability to put it into practice, we would be happy to work with you. Or perhaps you already have a workable synthesis procedure but are short on production capacity. With our modern facilities and wide range of technologies we can carry out a multitude of reactions.

How is the quality and purity of Creapure® guaranteed?
Creapure® is subject to strict quality controls

Creapure® is subject to strict quality controls

Each batch of Creapure® is tested for purity before leaving the factory. Creapure® is listed on the Cologne List®. This means that it is regularly tested at the Olympiastützpunkt Rheinland laboratory in Germany for any contamination from steroids or stimulants.

There are several ways to manufacture creatine commercially. AlzChem AG uses a process starting from sarcosinate and cyanamide. This method of production is considered the best and safest. In this way, AlzChem AG minimizes the risk that the creatine produced will contain two undesirable by-products: dicyandiamide (DCD) and dihydrotriazine (DHT).  Pure creatine should contain no more than a few tens of parts per million (ppm) of DCD and no detectable DHT, which is potentially harmful. This is the case with Creapure®.

Another common manufacturing process which has been adapted by some of our competitors, uses sarcosine and S-methylthiourea as raw materials. Contaminants in creatine made by this way can include methanethiol (methyl mercaptan), thiourea and dimethyl sulfate, all of which are toxic.
The breakdown of creatine during manufacturing or storage can produce creatinine. Levels above one percent have been measured in some commercial creatine samples. In some randomly-purchased creatine samples within the competition, a share of over one percent was detected. In competitor products, Creatinine is not dangerous but offers no performance benefit and indicates sloppy manufacturing.

Some analyses of commercial creatine have reported high levels of other contaminants. As well as those mentioned above, dietary supplements in general sometimes contain steroids, recreational drugs, and other banned substances, introduced either deliberately or accidentally. Therefore it is important to pay attention to the Creapure® logo on the packaging, as this assures you that you are buying the purest and best creatine monohydrate, Made in Germany!

Creapure® Products

Creapure®

Creapure® is the brand name used by AlzChem AG for creatine monohydrate. It contains the natural form of creatine as it occurs in the body. It is effective, safe and easily absorbed by the body. The fine white powder remains stable during storage.

Creapure® AH

AH stands for anhydrous. Creatine monohydrate contains about 88% creatine, while Creapure® AH contains 100%. The same amount of creatine can therefore be stored in a smaller volume. This may be an advantage, if only a limited volume is available (eg in capsule form). Once resolved, Creapure® AH behaves like Creapure®.

Creapure® PG

Creapure® PG is also needed in support for medical research. This pharmaceutical product is made available with the extensive documentation required for its application.

Creapure® Citrate

Creapure® Citrate is a chemical compound with creatine and citrate in a 3: 1 molar ratio. While Creapure® is tasteless, Creapure® Citrate is characterized by its lemon flavor and improved solubility.

Creapure® pH 10

Once dissolved, this mixture of Creapure® with a buffer consisting of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate forms an alkaline solution with a pH of about 10.

Creapure® Gluco

Creapure® Gluco is the product name for chewable tablets made from Creapure® which have a small dextrose content. The tablets contain one gram of creatine monohydrate per tablet and can be taken without water, making them particularly suitable for active usage. Creapure® Gluco is available in lemon or raspberry flavor.
