The Bavarian Football Association (BFV)
The Bavarian Football Association (BFV) is the largest of the 21 DFB regional associations and the largest sports association organized within the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV). The BFV comprises over 4,500 clubs with a total of over 1.6 million members. Its diverse responsibilities include: organizing the entire amateur football league system in Bavaria with over 25,000 teams across all age groups, from the lowest amateur leagues (C-Class) up to the Regionalliga Bayern (13,000 matches on a full matchday weekend); professional talent development; coach training and continuing education; referee training; and the ongoing development of (technical) resources for modern league operations across all age groups.
After American football, football has the highest percentage of creatine users among all team sports. This is especially true for elite athletes, but also applies to amateur players. According to a survey of footballers in the English professional leagues, including the Premier League, 35 percent of professionals take creatine. After vitamins, creatine is the most frequently used supplement. A similar picture emerged among players at the FIFA World Cup. Here, too, creatine is among the most frequently used dietary supplements.
Therefore, it makes sense that the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) and Creapure® have been cooperating since 2019 to further promote the topic of creatine in football and to raise awareness.
